Education

I earned a BA from Regis College in Weston, MA where I majored in Art and Elementary Education.

I continued my education at the University of Connecticut, where I earned a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis on teaching the Gifted and Talented.

Since then I have continued taking courses at various universities including Fitchburg State College and the University of Delaware.

Experience

I have been teaching for over 20 years in various states including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia and now Tennessee. During that time I taught students in grades K-8. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to teach students in the general education setting, as an Art teacher, and as a Curriculum Specialist, focusing on working with the Gifted and Talented students.

I am currently certified in Virginia and Tennessee in Elementary Education, Art, and teaching the Gifted and Talented. I am thrilled to be joining the Rivermont staff as the new media center teacher. This will be an exciting new chapter in my teaching career!

Bio

Three years ago my family and I moved from Virginia to Tennessee. This was not our first move! Prior to that we lived in Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, and New York. Each place we've lived has had its own unique personality and we've enjoyed them all! Now we've having fun exploring Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Although we enjoy traveling, home is our favorite place. When we're at home we enjoy playing with our two cats, Chloe and Spot as well as our latest addition, a puppy named Val that we adopted after we arrived here.
